Dr Ben Miller, Director of Science at King's Park & Botanic Gardens, is a fantastic addition to the National Quarry Life Award jury

Dr Ben Miller is Director of Science at Kings Park and Botanic Gardens, part of the Western Australian Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority. Kings Park Science is a global leader in restoration ecology science, and works closely with mining and extraction industries to undertake practical research that builds capacity in post-mine biodiversity outcomes. Ben is a plant ecologist with specific interests in plant conservation, fire ecology, urban ecology and ecosystem restoration across the state. His research has included studies of the ecology and restoration requirements of plant species threatened by iron ore mining in Western Australia; the ecology of long-lived trees in New Caledonia; community ecology and vegetation patterns in hyper-arid Pakistan; fire and spatial ecology of shrublands in Western Australia; as well as projects developing conservation strategy in Saudi Arabia. It is our pleasure to announce Dr Guy Boggs, Program Director at WABSI, as one of the Australian National Quarry Life Award judges

Dr Guy Boggs is the Program Director, Restoration and Ex-situ Conservation at the WA Biodiversity Science Institute. Guy has over 20 years’ experience in natural resource management as an academic and NRM Program Manager. Guy is currently working with the mining, agricultural and urban development sectors to enable research that will develop and facilitate the adoption of cost effective and scalable strategies for the restoration and reconstruction of W.A. ecosystems and the re-introduction of threatened plants and animals. International Jurors announced for the Quarry Life Award 2018

For its fourth edition, the Quarry Life Award announces today seven International Jury members to assess the projects for International Awards. This jury will work simultaneously with the 21 national juries which mission is to assess the participating projects in the national competitions. Read more
